Meet and greet Gary Ilminen of Lone Rock, author of The Unlikely 1, a story from the Bonneville salt flats of “a 40-year-old motorcycle, an even older rider, and one of those dreams that never die.” Gary will be at the Lone Rock Community Hall on Saturday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Richland Hospital’s Safe Sitter course comes to the library March 28th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (during Spring Break). This is a one-day course designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice skills like choking rescue and CPR. Class size is limited to 8 students. Cost is $20.00. Deadline for payment and registration form (completed by parent) is March 20th. Both must be received in order for seat to be reserved.
