Public Listening Session March 20th: Richland County Aging Plan 2019-21

What do you see as the most important needs to age well in Richland County? What do you feel are the most important issues facing older people in our community? Are there programs or services that you would like to see in Richland County that are not currently provided, or that you would like to see expanded? Share your input at this listening session with staff from the Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Eagle Country on Tuesday, March 20th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at Lone Rock Community Library. Please complete the aging plan survey, available at the library, and here: Aging Plan Survey , even if you cannot attend the listening session.


Lone Rock author Gary Ilminen at Community Hall, Saturday March 24th

Meet and greet Gary Ilminen of Lone Rock, author of The Unlikely 1, a story from the Bonneville salt flats of  “a 40-year-old motorcycle, an even older rider, and one of those dreams that never die.” Gary will be at the Lone Rock Community Hall on Saturday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Safe Sitter course March 28th

Richland Hospital’s Safe Sitter course comes to the library March 28th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (during Spring Break). This is a one-day course designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice skills like choking rescue and CPR. Class size is limited to 8 students. Cost is $20.00. Deadline for payment and registration form (completed by parent) is March 20th. Both must be received in order for seat to be reserved. Please submit Student-Registration-Form with check payable to Richland Hospital to the library (or mail: Lone Rock Community Library, PO Box 5, Lone Rock, WI 53556).
