New Library Hours

The Lone Rock Community Library will be changing their library hours starting August 1, 2016. The new library hours will be:

Monday: 10:00 a.m-6:00 p.m

Tuesday: 8:00 a.m-4:00 p.m

Wednesday: 10:00 a.m-6:00 p.m

Thursday: 8:00 a.m-4:00 p.m

Part-Time Library Assistant

Part-Time Library Assistant

The Lone Rock Community Library is seeking applicants for the position of Library Assistant. This 10 hour per week position requires a flexible schedule as more hours will be necessary in the absence of the library director. Must be available for shifts during open library hours; Monday & Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday & Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pay range: $9.00 to $10.00 per hour depending upon experience. The employer does not provide a benefit package. High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to speak, write and read English, and to perform moderately heavy physical work. Computer and Internet skills required.

Under the supervision of the library director the library assistant will act as a customer service contact point for patrons who wish to access a variety of library materials and services. A well-qualified candidate will demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain and foster a professional and courteous working relationship with the public. In addition to computer proficiency, some knowledge of library materials, methods and techniques is desirable. Perform a wide range of circulation functions, assists library patrons with locating materials and information, and assists with the use of computers and other devices. The library assistant will aid the library director in programming needs for patrons of all ages. Provide general orientation of library services to new patrons, make copies, issue library cards and maintain related database, shelve materials, general cleaning, shoveling and salting sidewalks when necessary. Other duties as assigned by the library director.

Gather with fellow knitters and possibly learn a few tips & tricks while working on your current project. Bring your knitting (or crochet) supplies to the Lone Rock Community Library from 6 to 7 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month for this social knitting circle!
