Toddler Storytime

Toddler Storytime will be coming to an end for the winter months. Our last Toddler Storytime will be held Tuesday, January 31 at 10:30 a.m. We will also be hosting a Yoga Storytime on Thursday, January 26 at 10:30 a.m. Stop by to get in one last stotytime before the spring months.

Homework Club

An after school Homework Club will be starting in October every Wednesday from 3:45-5:30. Snacks and guidance will be available for school aged children!

Part-Time Library Assistant

Part-Time Library Assistant

The Lone Rock Community Library is seeking applicants for the position of Library Assistant. This 10 hour per week position requires a flexible schedule as more hours will be necessary in the absence of the library director. Must be available for shifts during open library hours; Monday & Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday & Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pay range: $9.00 to $10.00 per hour depending upon experience. The employer does not provide a benefit package. High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to speak, write and read English, and to perform moderately heavy physical work. Computer and Internet skills required.

Under the supervision of the library director the library assistant will act as a customer service contact point for patrons who wish to access a variety of library materials and services. A well-qualified candidate will demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain and foster a professional and courteous working relationship with the public. In addition to computer proficiency, some knowledge of library materials, methods and techniques is desirable. Perform a wide range of circulation functions, assists library patrons with locating materials and information, and assists with the use of computers and other devices. The library assistant will aid the library director in programming needs for patrons of all ages. Provide general orientation of library services to new patrons, make copies, issue library cards and maintain related database, shelve materials, general cleaning, shoveling and salting sidewalks when necessary. Other duties as assigned by the library director.
